FAQ
Q.
How do you RP?
A. Simple, just begin as if you were writing a story, but only write the actions, speech or thoughts of your own character.

For example:
Crysthia walked down the long hall. It was late at night and she should not have been out of bed. Carefully she turned the corner, making sure there was nobody there. If I get caught, I’ll be so dead. Why did I let Mandy talk me into this dare? She thought angrily. She was so absorbed in her thoughts she walked right into someone else. She gasped as she realized who it was.

At this point the post would be ended and this would be a good opportunity for someone else to jump in and make a post where their character finds Crysthia.

Q. How do you indicate thoughts?
A. Thoughts are generally indicated using italics. You know that slanty font that looks like this?

Q. I’m RPing with someone and I don’t like the direction they are trying to take the RP in.
A. Unfortunately that can happen when others are involved in writing something. You just have to go with it or attempt to change the direction. If it’s really important to you that it goes a certain way, try emailing or PMing the member you are RPing with and explaining what you want to do. It’s up to them however if they want to comply or continue where they want to go.

Q. I’m RPing with someone and they are “god-moding” it’s very annoying.
A. Try sending them an email or PM explaining how you feel, the player may not realize they are doing it. If that doesn’t work send an email or PM to the Headmistress who will judge the situation and possibly send a warning to the god-moding member.

Q. I’d like to do an RP with a specific person, but don’t really want anyone else to join.
A. Ok when you start the thread and create your subject add ATTN: and then the name of the person you want to RP with. If you want to put a thread at a specific person’s attention but also don’t care if anyone else joins you could but ATTN: person and anyone else.

Q. Someone has started a thread that is ATTN: personsname but it looks like a fun thread and I want to join.
A. There are a couple ways you can do this. You can email or PM the initial poster in the thread and ask them if it’s ok to join in on the RP, or you can make an OOC post asking if it’s ok to join. A lot of times people are perfectly fine with you joining in, but sometimes they have a specific goal they are trying to attain.

Q. Can I have more than one Character?
A. Yes however your primary character must be fully raised to Adult Wizard for one month, or your primary character must be six months old.

Q. What are classes and how does one take them?
A. You will notice a category in the Forum marked Classes. Inside there are classes for each subject in New Student Level, O.W.L. Level and N.E.W.T. Level. Here there are pre-made lessons to which you can post a reply. The professor of that class will then grade your response, and sometimes a short RP will ensue.
